4th Police Precinct

Location: Richmond, VA
Construction Schedule: October 2007 - October 2008
Construction Value: $4,207,289

Description:

The 4th Police Precinct project consisted of the total renovation and adaptive reuse of an existing building that had been constructed over time and with several modifications and additions, and a variety of uses, the last of which was a construction equipment rental facility.  Because of its past, the renovation was extensive to adapt the structure into a Police Precinct facility.

The work included significant structural modifications and all new mechanical, plumbing, electrical, and sprinkler systems, as well as complete new finishes, with special consideration for the end user, the Police Department.  The building received new windows, some of which with bullet proof glass for security.

The site development was also extensive, and included a sizeable new parking lot to accommodate the police vehicle fleet, new utilities for storm water management, sanitary sewer and water lines, security fencing, and landscaping.
